MIMIC, produce by the University of Wisconsin Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (UW-CIMSS) combines various Passive MicroWave (PMW) measurements from satellites, and advects these fields using winds from the Global Forecast System (GFS), to produce a spatially and temporally consistent global data set of total precipitable water (TPW). You can find more on MIMIC here: http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/real-time/mtpw2/about.html
